It was announced that a trophy competition among the primary schools had been donated by Wellington swimmers in .memory of the late Air. T. Shields, who devoted many years of his life to the teaching of swimming among the young people of Wellington. Ou the motion of the chairman it was decided to form an association to be known as the Wellington Primary Schools’ Amateur Swimming Assocation, all primary schools, including registered private schools, of Wellington district as far north as Plimmerton and Upper Hutt to be eligible for membership. The annual fee for membershin was fixed at half a crown per school. It was further decided that the annual meeting be held not later than the first week of December in each year. The following committee was elected: —President, Mr. J. Finlayson; vice-pre-sidents, .Miss Al. Alagill and Air. W. S. Bowie; secretary, Mr. E. H. Fisher (South Wellington School); treasurer, Mr. G. Richardson (Hutt Central School); Aliss A. Booth, Miss D. Fairbrother, Mr. W. Britton, and Mi;. J. Duffy. Mr. H. R. Fisher, educational officer, was appointed ex officio, a member of tho committee.
