A bather indulging in his customary sprint down the beach at *he Bay the other evening noticed the body of a. large bird drifting shoreward (says the Timaru “Herald”). When the waves had lifted the Idl'd high and dry he approached and formed the opinion that it. was a young albatross. The bird was grey anil white in colour, and measured about five feet from tip to tip of the ■wings.
