STAFF PICNICS

BRITISH IMPERIAL OIL COMPANY Members' of the staff of the British ’mperial Oil Company (N.Z.), Ltd., held their annual picnic at tho Hutt racecourse yesterday, tho weather conditions 1. ideal. A special train conveyed the picnickers from Lam bion, and it was a happy crowd, sorry that tho day was over, that returned lo their homes in the evening. Luncheon was provided and sweets and fruit were distributed among the children, while there were attractions lor young anil old aud wives and families of the staff- There were races for tho children, the married ladies, young men aud women, and the visitors and I hose who lost derived just as much or ('ven more fun from the events than those who won. Tennis was also available, and a great number made use of the courts at the grounds. Among those present was the company’s chief reprosentativo iii Now Zealand (Mr. 1.
