LINDBERGH RETURNING FROM MEXICO

Colonel Lindbergh arrived here today from San Jose (Costa Rica), thus completing his aerial tour of Mexico and the Central American Republics. LANCASTER EN ROUTE FOR BATAVIA Singapore, January 9. Captain Lancaster, who is accompanied by Mrs. Keith Miller, in the Red Rose, has departed en route for Batavia. He hopes to fly back to England from /Australia over the same route. A BAD CRASH (Rec. January 10, 8.50 p.m.) Weltevreden, January 10. The Red Rose arrived at Muntok and intended to proceed to Batavia, but crashed from a height of fifty metres, owing to a broken plunger axle. Captain Lancaster suffered a slight concussion and a slight wound to his lip, and Mrs. Miller’s nose was broken. The machine was badly damaged. COBHAM’S SEAPLANE REPAIRED Malta, January 9. His seaplane having been repaired, Sir Alan Cobham will resume his flight directly the weather permits. TWO TRANSPOLAR FLIGHTS Moscow, January 9. Dr. Nansen’s collaborators- have informed the International Society for Arctic Airship Study that the organisation of two trans-Polar flights has commenced. The first is proposed from Leningrad via Murmansk to the North Pole and Alaska, returning via Siberia. The second involves linking up Berlin and Tokio via Leningrad.—A.P.A. and “Sun.” BRITISH OFFICERS KILLED AT MOSUL Rugby. January 9. The Air Ministry announces that as a result of an accident at Ninaidi, aerodrome to a Bristol fighter machine of the No. 6 Army Co-operation Squadron at Mosul oti January 9, Pilot Officer Lionel Fisher, Royal Air Force pilot of aircraft, was killed, and Lieutenant Sidney Haserick, King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, attached to the Iraq levies, was dangerously injured.—British Official Wireless.
