DR. HILL’S ITINERARY

Dunedin, January 10,
A meeting of tho bodies interested entered a protest against the omission of Ot;tgo and Southland from the itinerary of Dr. Hill, the Director of (ho Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew. Mr. T. K. Sidc-y, M.P., presided. Mr. ,D. Taniiock stated that tho botanical work was negligible elsewhere than in Dunedin, and tho Hon. G. M. Thomson said that (he Otago and Southlaud provinces constituted the most important botanical region in New Zealand.
A resolution was passed urging’ a reconsideration of the itinerary.
