PREMIER OF IRAQ RESIGNS
FOLLOWING REJECTION OF TREATY WITH BRITAIN London, January 9. The “Daily Mail’s” Bagdad corre spondent reports that Cabinet rejected the treaty with Britain. The Premier has resigned. Abdul Saadun is forming a Cabinet.—Sydney “Sun” Cable. [The treaty between Britain and Iraq consists of sixteen articles, according to a message from Cairo published a few days ago. It says that His Brittannic Majesty recognises Iraq as an independent sovereign State, and adds that peace and friendship shall exist between the monarchs of Britain and Iraq. The contracting parties engage to maintain friendly relations, each doing the utmost to prevent all illegal actions in their respective countries calculated to have a repercussion upon the peace and or der of the other country. Britain undertakes to support Iraq’s candidature for membership of the League of Na tions in 1932, provided the present leve' of progress is maintained, and things go well in the meantime.}
