The chief speaker at a recent Reading temperance meeting was the Rev. T. Caddy. The increasing popularity of Trounson Kauri Park is indicated ,by the fact that the caretaker, Mr. R. M. Donaldson, reports that 554 people visited the park during tho holidays (states the New Zealand Herald”). Mr. Donaldson has received advice from the Auckland Automobile Association that a large number of parties of motorists will leave Auckland for the forest, during the month. The roads between Whatoro ami the park and Donnelly's Crossing and the park linvo been graded and arc. reported to no cars have made tho trip through the Waipoua Forest Road to WaHuamaku. The trip takes about three, and a hull hours from Boaucly's Uroseiuc.
