Combined Doubles. —Fouith round: Lampe and Aliss Alyers beat Alitcheil and Miss McPherson, 6—3, 6-3; semifinal, Webster and Mrs. Scott-Watson beat Stedman and Aliss Alatheson, 6—3, 6—2. Andrews, who won New Zealand tennis championship singles in 1926, competed in the Cambridge University Freshman’s hard-court tournament in November, and won the event by beating E. R. Avory in the final, g_3 ; g—o, and so became the holder ci the ’Crundel-Punnett Cup. Andrews and Avory paired in the freshmen’s doubles and after beating C. A. Alagrane and AV. L. van Alen, 7— 11—9, defeated P. L. Dcrville and A. C. Butler in the final, G—o. fi—2. Tn the university hard-court doubles, H AV. Austin and R. R. T. Young (Wellington) came through the top halt, and had to meet. Farquharson and Horne in the final The latter pair heat Andrews and Alen, 7—5, 6—o, in the semifinal of the lower half.
