Miss Rachael Pitt, a native of Polwarth, Berwickshire, celebrated tier hundredth birthday recently. Her fa ther, who volunteered to take the pince of n man taken by the press gang, be came a colour-sergeant in the 78th Foot and fought at AVatcrloo. She remem bers the days when her father kept vigil in the burial ground to prevent body-snatchers raiding the graves.
