OIL FOR FLOORS INSTEAD OF SCRUBBING. ■ Fewer charwomen will be neeeded, and scrubbing brushes and buckets will be abolished in consequence of a new method of cleaning the floors of the London County Council schools. Dust-allaying oil wfill be used, and it is hoped to stive £12,006 annually by this means. Successful experiments have been made in 100 schools. An official of the council, explaining the method, said: “The oil is applied thinly to the Horn with a broom, and is allowed to dry.
