BY Telegraph.—press Association. Dunedin, January 6. For the nine months ended December 31 deposits at the Dunedin Savings Bank (not the Government bank) were hfo, . and the withdrawals £568.281. As tho past year was considered to be a bad one, commercially and financially, the returns show that the people were thrifty.. Business houses complained of an easing oil in spending during the winter, and although unemployment was serious lor a long period, the bank returns show that in the middle of the winter tho average of deposits was maintained, while the withdrawals were not above the normal.
