LOCAL ASSOCIATION’S ANNUAL MEETING CHAMPIONSHIP WON BY C. WHITEMAN T. KIDD RUNNER-UP The annual meeting of the Wellington Ritle Association was held at Trentham on January 2 and 3. Although the attendance was not so large as anticipated, the meeting was thoroughly successful in every way. The range was ably controlled by Captain P. Barchain, who was assisted by Lieut. F. Gillham, and members of the executive, lead by Deputy-President W. J. H. Haase, also lent valuable assistance. The chief trench officer was Dep-uty-President W. G. Fellingham, who had with him Lieut. F. Smith, and their good work among the markers helped ‘considerab’y to send the meeting along with a swing. Rifleman C. Wliilctnan. who won the North Island Championship at Wanganui last week, proved his consistency by winning the Wellington Championship, with Rifleman T. Kidd (Suburbs) a good second. Rifleman A. V. Swanson (Karori) won the Midfield Aggregate, aud took the Licensed Victuallers Cup. Featherston won the teams’ match from Petone by the narrow margin of 1 point.
