NURSERYMEN’S ANNUAL CONFERENCE.

The conference of the New Zealand Association of Nurserymen was continued in Wellington yesterday, Air. T. Waugh presiding. Routine business occupied the morning and afternoon sittings. In the evening a floral display was staged by the combined Wellington florists. Specimens of lemons ami oranges grown in the north were also on view, and interesting addresses were given. Mr. Al. F. Luckie, who presided, apologised tor the absence of the Alayor (Air. G. A. Troup), and congratulated the association on its progress. Air. G. Cooper, of Wellington, narrated his impressions of gardens lie had visited on a recent tour, particularly mentioning those of Alelbourne, Italy, and England, including Warwick Castie, and Kew. The latter he described as without a rival in the world.

Mr. D. Alillar. Al. Sc., Government Entomologist, lectured on “Some Insect Friends of the Gardener,” illustrated with lantern slides.

A programme, contributed to by Mr. and Mrs. L. Griffiths, of Auckland, and Mr. Duncan, of Wellington, was a feature of the evening. To-day the delegates will lie taken on a tour of the city and Lower Hutt district; and the conference will conclude.
