IMPROVEMENT SOCIETY. Palmerston North, January 4. Mr. H. J. Fagan presided over the annual meeting of the Tangimoana Beach Improvement Society held in the recently-erected McKelvie Hall on Monday. There was a large attendance of members aud residents interested in. the society. The annual report submitted by the secretary, Air. C. W Fuller, stated that during the year nine swings had been erected and were proving very popular with the children. Three hundred trees had been planted around the reserve, and these would prove to be most beneficial in the years to come. The report proceeded at length to deal with the cost of the McKelvie Hall, and went on to refer to the services that had been rendered to the society by the ladies’ committee, which had catered so excellently for the various gatherings that had been held at the beach. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £22 13s 9d. Both report aud balance-sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected for the forthcoming year: President, Air. H. J. Fagan; vice-president, Mr. T. Stringer; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. W. Fuller; executive and hall committee, Messrs. Stanley, Marsden, Alsop, Whitfield, Belworthy, and the president and secretary; general committee, Messrs. Coleman, Marsden, Ingram, Northcote, Ransom, Broad, AL Alsop, G. Alsop, A. Alsop, C. Alsop, Whitfield, Belworthy, Arnott, Hunt, Coker, Howard, Street, Olds, Small and Webbey. A number of suggestions for future improvements to the beach were advanced.
