TRAMCAR ON FIRE
LITTLE DAMAGE DONE. While a tram-car bound for Wadcstown was approaching tho first cutting at 5.15 p.m. yesterday, the controller "blew out ” with the result that flames immediately ran down from the wires and set tho roof ablaze. The fire brigade was soon on tho scene and tho flames were subsided before serious damage was done. As the tram was put on to a loop line, traffic was only suspended for a few minutes. The need for protection against fire loss is obvious Consult The Mercantile and General Insurance Company Ltd., Panama Street. Wellington.— Advt.
