ANGLING SEASON
GOOD PROSPECTS IN OROUA DISTRICT.
Feilding, October 5.
. With the opening of the angling season on Saturday last, the great majority of license-holders in Feilding and the surrounding district took their gear to the river-banks at their earliest opportunity. Despite the fact that, from the point of view of the angler, weather conditions were not ideal, and although the water in both the Pohangina and Oroua Rivers was exceptionally clear, some very good sport was provided. • This was particularly the case iu the Rangitikei River, where some very good trout were landed. An excellent bag of six was taken from the Rangitikei, while other good catches v>ere reported from other rivers and streams. From the point of view of stocking, it would appear that this season will be an excellent one, for all the rivers in the district have been liberally provided with both yearlings and fry. .
