1 - FINANCING PURCHASERS (Rec. October 5, 10.45 p.m.) Canberra. October 5. The House of Representatives read a first time an amending Bank Bill, which is preliminary to the Commonwealth Housing Bill, which will enable the Commonwealth Bank to finance persons having incomes not exceeding £b24 a year up to 90 per cent, of the value of ’houses they wish to purchase. The obiect of the amending Bank Bill is to separate the Savings Bank operations of the Commonwealth Bank from its general banking activities, pnmarilv ior the purpose of financing the Federal housing scheme.
