GENERAL ELECTION
WAIKATO AND HAURAKI SEAT
Further light on the reported statement of Mr. J. S. Fisher, president of the Waikato Reform League, that Mr. A. M. Samuel would be the party’s candidate for the Waikato seat at the general election, was thrown yesterday when Mr. Samuel stated to a Dominion representative that he had definitely announced on more than one occasion that he would contest the new Hauraki electorate, and that nothing had arisen to cause him to alter his decision.
Mr. Samuel added that anything to the contrary appearing in the newspapers had been published without his sanction.
