As the result of continuous complaints about cattle wandering in the Blenheim Borough, the council decided that the ranger be given a month’s notice and that fresh applications be called for the position (states the “Express’ 1 ’). Several councillors reported complaints from ratepayers of wandering cows destroying their hedges and trampling over their gardens at night, and the town clerk mentioned that his telephone was constantly occupied by frantic people who were unable to get into touch with the range*.
