4 MONTHLY MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. The monthly meeting of the executive committee of the Wellington North R-ate-navers’ Association was held on Monday evening. Mr. E. G. Pilcher occupied the chair, and there was a good attendance of members. , . City Loan proposals were discussed at some length, and while the meeting did not express any opinion regarding them, it was decided to urge strongly tho construction of a footpath in Glasgow street, and the widening of Salamanca Load, as works of urgency. Disappointment was expressed at the opposition of local residents to the proposal to establish a childrens play area in Fitsherbert Terrace. It was lecided to suggest that the site iu 4UCUI s Park shonlc be reconsidered, and the <’liairm:ifi agreed to look at other areas v-nicu might be suitable. Attention was drawn to the small section of the road at the junction of Thorndon Quay and Tinakori Road, v Inch is still unpaved. It was reported that the work had been delayed or several reasons, and it was agreed to suggest to the corporation that a bitumen surface should be laid as early as possible in the coming paving season.
