THE SPANISH PLOT
ARMY OFFICERS BELIEVED TO BE IMPLICATED THREATENED INSURRECTION CRUSHED BY GOVERNMENT By Telegraph.-—Press Association.—Copyright. (Rec. October 3, 7 p.m.) London, October 3. The “Daily Mail’’ says conflicting week-end messages have been received regarding events in Spain. The news agencies report a plot to murder King Alfonso and General De Rivera, and there have been thirty arrests. Other reports state that a hundred bombs were found. Spanish army officers are believed to be implicated in a vast revolutionary conspiracy. It is stated that the Government crushed the threatened insurrection.
Spanish official circles formally deny all the reports. The indications of the severe censorship have intensified the position.—Sydney “Sun” Cable.
