SEPTEMBER STATISTICS

MASTERTON. An increase in deaths and a decrease tn births for the month ended to-day over tile corresponding month last year is shown in the vital statistics for Mastorton. September has been a quiet month in • Mastertoll so far as building operations in the berough are concerned, the value of permits issued by the council totalling £2233 Is., as against £7944 10s. for the corresponding month last year. The sum of £l6OO represents two houses each of £BOO, tho remaining amount being made up with alterations, additions and other buildings. Fees collected amount to £B. FEILDING. Following are tho vital statistics for Feilding for the month ending to-day, the figures for last month being given iu parentheses:—Births, 13 (12); deaths, 8 (7); marriage notices, 7 (5); marriages solemnised by Registrar, 0 (1). Two cases of infectious diseases, including one of scarlet fever, were reported during September.' It has been decided by the borough inspector that figures for building permits in Feilding will not be given until the end of the year. This month business is stated to have been very slack, only one permit, that for a new house, having been issued.
