AN UNSOLVED MYSTERY

BODY FOUND IN BUSH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Te Kuiti, October 3. Late on Sunday night the police of Te Kuiti found, the remains of a man about two miles from Kopaki. near the Mangapeehi stream, in a remote and almost inaccessible place, surrounded by high cliffs. The body was decomposed, and an inquest produced no evidence ot identification. The body was that oi a man between 55 and 60 years of age, height sft. 10in., of slim build. It had on a dark brown striped suit, grey flannel trousers, and size nine .in boots. The theory is that the unknown man was going from camp to a stream lor water, as he had a tin tied round his neck, and that his death was due to staivation or exhaustion Iho man s camp was at the bottom ° f a high clift, in a place where, it is said, settlers have never been. The inquest was adjoin ned while the police are making inquiries. ,
