TO-MORROW’S ALL BLACK TRIAL Keen interest is being taken in tomorrow’s final trial to select tho remaining sixteen men to complete the New Zealand team for South Africa next year. With so many candidates in tho running, the players will undoubtedly give of their best in order to gain the distinction ot representing the Dominion in the struggle for the Rugby supremacy of the world. M. Nicholls is unable to take the field for the Probables as five-eighth, and his place will be filled by A. Strang, of South Canterbury. OLD SCHOOLMATES FOREGATHER CONGRATULATIONS TO DALLEY. Yesterday some 30 members of the Wellington branch of the Christchurch Boys’ High School Old Boys’ Association entertained Messrs. W. C. Dailey G. T. Alley, J- T. Burrows, and S. 11. Carleton, of the South Island football team, and .old boys of the school at luncheon at Kirkcaldio and Stains. Mr. E. T. Norris, president of the branch, who was in the chair, said they were assembled to congratulate Dalle? on his selection os a member of the team for South Africa and to express the hope that Alley. Burrows and Carleton would be able to go with him. He congratulated all four on the part they nad nlayed in the fine game on Saturdav. He was pleased to welcome Mr. G. W Forbes. M.P., an old boy of the school and an old footballer ;vho had playa.l half-hack for East Christchurch mruF years ago. It was fitting too that unions those present was another al 1 boy of tho school. Mr. M. Thompson. 1 member of the 1905 All Black team. Mr G. W. Forbes, M.P.. said he had always retained hie interest in the old school, which had turned out many good citizens and many good footballers. .He congratulated Dnllev on his selection. He thought that those international snorts tours could do ft very great deal of good in smoothing the rough nla.ces and making for the good of the Empire. A return Rugby match was played on Saturday between Murphy Bros.’ pipeworks’ Rolleston Street and 'Taranaki Street branches. Taranaki Street again won by 21 points to 14. For Taranaki Street, C. Murphy (2), Wyeth, Howison. Christensen scored, and Wyeth potted a goal and converted one try. For Rolleston Street. McFadyen, Pahl, McKelvio, and Hutchison scored, and Barron converted one try.
