The Federal Company received a wireless message yesterday from the Kent, en route from Liverpool, stating that the vessel has been delayed by bad weather, and will not arrive at Auckland until 10 a.m. to-morrow. The ship is duo at Wellington about a week later. THE PORT CAROLINE. The O. and D. Lino steamer Port Caroline loft New Plymouth last evening for Auckland aud Wellington, to fill t p for London. The vissel is now timed to sail dually from Wellington ou the r.orniug of September 21 for London, via Cape Horn. MATATUA LEAVES MONTEVIDEO. A cable meanage to the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company reports that the Matatua left Montevideo on Sunday morning for Antwerp and London, en route- I rem Auckland. The vessel sailed from Auckland on' August 19. COASTAL TANKER PAUA. On her maiden voyage from England, via Singapore, the British Imperial Oil Company’s new coastal tanker Paua arrived at Bluff recently. From Bluff she will come to Wellington, to complete discharge. The Paua, which was built by Messrs. Harland and Wolff, is 205 ft. in length, b.p, with a moulded beam of 36ft. 6iu.. and a depth of 15ft., the gross tonnage being 1155, and the total oil-carrying capacity in the nine cargo tanks 950 tons. The main centre oil tanks are utilised for the carriage of case oil. and large hatches are fitted to each cargo tank. Forward is a large bold used for case oil, with a pump room on one side. There are four gear-driven winches operated by a line of shafting from the auxiliary air compressor in the motor room, which auxiliary also drives one of the pumps in the after motor room. A sixcylinder Harland-B. and W. engine iB installed. THE CANADIAN SCOTTISH. Cabled news has been received by the C. and D. Lino that the Canadian S<ottish arrived at Panama at 7. a.m. on Sunday from Montreal, and sailed again on the evening of the same day for New Zealand ports. The Union Company advise that the Poolta, from Clarence River, is due at Port Stevens to-morrow to continue load ing timber From there the vessel will proceed to Newcastle, to complete lor Now Plymouth, Wellington, and mouth.
