WELLINGTON OENTHE MEETS. The moutlilv meeting of the Wellington centre of the Amateur Athletic Association was held last night. Mr. A. C. Kitto presiding. , , . Mr. A. W. O. Travers asked the centie for lielp to swell the funds of the Olympic Council, and asked that the proceeds of one or more evening meetings be devotee to this purpose. Mit. A. O. Kitto replied that the proceeds of at least one meeting should be given, and that a special meeting for that purpose would be held when the Australian athletes were in Wellington. mt. The Dannevirko Amateur Athletic Ulub wrote asking that tho Australians should visft them. Tho request was forwarded to the New Zealand Council for their consideration. „ . , _ . Tho Wellington Caledonian bociety wrote stating that, owing to the Australasian athletic championships being held in Wellington, the society had found that it would be impossible to hold their annual gathering this year The society also stated that they intended to apply for affiliation to the Wellington Centie Permission was granted the Wulrafapa Caledonian Society to include in the programme of their meeting, to be held on January 2. 1928, a two-nnlc provincial championship, .as had been done for some years past. A communication was received fiom the New Zealand Council of the A.A.A. that the following notice of motion moved by Mr. Guy. and seconded by Mr. Austad, would be considered at a special meeting of tho council:-"(!) That all competitors must wear regulation club or representative costumes as the case may be. (2) No names of cycle, trade mark, or any other advertising matter shall be exhibited on the costume of any competitor during tho progress of the meeting or at the starting or finishing points of any race, or during the progress of any race. (3) Any competitor infringing the above shall bo disqualified by the referee of such meeting, or race, as the case may bo. for such period as the referee shall think fit.” , , After discussion the motion was passed that the Wellington Centre's delegates be informed that tno centre viewed the motion favourably. Messrs. A. C. Kitto and Harrison were appointed selectors of the Wellington team for the New Zealand championships, the former for athletic events, and the latter for cycling events.
