CRUSHED LIME

REINSTATEMENT OF SUBSIDY WANTED.

Legislative provision this session for the reinstatement of the subsidy allowed on lime crushed or burnt for purely agricultural purposes is asked for in a question givtn notice of iu the House of Representatives yesterday by Mr. R. I’. Hudson (Motueka).

Mr. Hudson states that material assistance in the form of free railage up to 100 miles is given to those in a position to take advantage of the concession, whereas those in outlying localities not served ,_by railways are further handicapped by getting no permanent State assistance. He asks that the subsidy be'restored to the amount provided prior to the allowance being cut off on the recommendation of the Economies Commission.
