EARLY MORNING BLAZE

HOUSE DESTROYED AT LINTON. Palmerston North, September 12. At about four o'clock this morning an unexplained outbreak of fire took place at Linton in a house owned «by Mr. A. Akers, and occupied by Mr. Larsen. By seven o’clock the house was completely demolished. Painful burns were suffered by Mr. Larsen in his endeavours to rescue his child from the flames. He is stated to be a heavy loser as far as his property is concerned. Although the Palmerston Fire Brigade turned out in answer to a call, the fact that the fire was beyond the borough boundary. caused them to return to their homes without proceeding further. The cause of the fire is unknown.
