Pidwell, aged 28, was yesterday, in the Magistrate’s Court at Petone, fined d£lo, the maximum amount for that offence, by Messrs. A. Anderson and J. Kerr, J.P.’s. The circumstances were that Pidwell was observed by Miss Ruth Johnson to be peering through a window of her father’s house. She immediately went outside, found Pidwell looking through tho kitchen window. Pidwell attempted to make off, but Miss Johnson closed with him and held him till, in answer to her cries for help, her father arrived. Only after a severe struggle, in which Mr. Johnson strained a sinew, were they able to get control of the man. The Lower Hutt police were communicated with, and Constable Ruddell arrested Pidwell.
