STREET IMPROVEMENTS. The monthly meeting of the Northland Progressive Association was b e '“ 01J Thursday night, Mr. S. h. Lambert presiding. The forthcoming municipal elections were discussed, and preliminary arrangements made in connection with the canvassing of the district to secure enrolments and support for the Onio League’s nominees. It was decided to request the City Council to provide a waiting shed for tramway passengers at the junction or Karori Road and Wilton Road, a very exposed stopping place used by a considerable number of residents. lii response to the association s request that a loot-bridge be provided over tne stream in Western Park and a gateway through the fence bordering the new road from the cemetery, a reply was received stating that the matter was receiving the attention of the city engine<With regard to the association's request that the long delayed work of widening out the dangerous bottle-neck at the entrance to Farm Road, a reply was received that the work could not be undertaken at present. The president stated that he had been given to understand that there was; a probability of the bus service being still further improved by, the institution of a more frequent service.
