A SPLINTERED WINDSHIELD

MOTORIST’S CURIOUS experience. Dominion Special. Christchurch, January 21. Mr C. Kemp had a curious experience in St. Albans last evening. While motoring along Onslow Street at about 9 o’clock he heard something whistle past his bead and his windscreen was splintered in all directions. The missile, whatever it was, left a small round hole in the glass at the base of the splinters. There was nobodv about at the time, and he bad not seen anybody on the road for some distance. It was verv doubtful what the missile was, for he did not hear anv rifle shot or anything similar. He thought, however, it might have been from a shanghai. A thorough search of the car was made, but nothing could be found. The obstacle, whatever it was, came from almost -directly behind the driver, and. pierced the shield right in front of his nose.
