WORKMAN FATALLY INJURED
A VEBDIOT OF ACCIDENTAL DEATH.
Mr. W. G. Itiddell, S.M. Coroner), conducted an inguest m the * Court yesterday, into the death of Henry Thomas Patterson (aged t2 ':, "J- 10 ,, 1 ~n the Wellington Public Hospital on . L Hurs day, January 13. as the result ot injuries received when his both legs M - badly crushed by being caught m a mixer at the Gaseo Brick Company s works at Miramar, the .-anie day. The evidence showed that 1 atterson, who was a married man, residing nt io .Fifeshire Avenue, Wellington, evidently stood up on either side of a mixer for the purpose of oiling a bearing which was just above the machine. and that m getting down from this position he accidentally slipped his foot nto it. It was necessary to partly dismantle the machine in order to extricate him. anti this , took an hour and twenty minutes. An ambulance was sent for mnmdiately the accident oceirreJ, and a doctor was in attendance within a very few minutes. The latter administered morphia and assisted in getting the deceased free.
