FATALITY AT POLICE STATION
death of elderly prisoner. A prisoner in a cell at the Taranaki Street Police Station died at about 1 a.m. on Christmas Day. He was an elderly married man, named John. McKenzie, and had been arrested for insobriety at about 7.30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.' At a late hour last night no information could be obtained as to his late address. An inquest is to be held.
