Town and country. Mr. ami Mrs. R. 11. Lucas, of Palmerston North, have left on a motoring tour of the North island. Mr. J. S. Barton, of Wanganui, has left with his daughters on a motor trip to the National Park. Airs. E. Lower, of Wellington, is staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Keeling, ol Palmerston North. Captain and Mrs. K. Stewart, of Palmerston North, have left for a motor trip to the Auckland district. Dr. and Mrs. G. Robertson, of Wanganui, are spending the holidays in Hawkq’s Bay. Miss N. Scanlan, of Wellington, is spending a lew nays with her sister, Mrs. T. J. Rogers, at Pliinmerlon. Mrs. Perry, oi Wellington, is staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hodgins, of Palmerston North. Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Freeman, of Pal merston North, are spending the holidays at Paraparumu. Mr. and Mrs. S. Sherriff, of Taihape, are spending the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Abraham, of Palmerston North. iMr. \V. Pegden, of Palmerston North, and familv, are spending the Christmas holidays with Mr. and Mrs. M. Archer, of Worser Bay, Wellington. A London exchange of November 11. reports the wedding' at St. Paul’s, Knightsbridge; of Air. Robert Eric Sherlock Gooch, the Life Guards, eld-, est-son of Sir Thomas V. S. Gooch, Bt., and Lady Gooch, of Benacre Hall, Wrentiiam, Suffolk, with Miss Katherine Clervaux Chaytor, elder daughter of Afajor-Geueral Sir lidward W. C. Chaytor, late G.O.C. New Zealand Military Forces, and Lady Chaytor, of Byfield, Farnham, Surrey.

Madame Menere writes from London to say that she has arranged to have made up some Real Russian Golden Seal Coats all the rage at Home at present, and never seen in the Donlinion before. She will be showing these on her New Zealand, tour commencing at Invercargill early in March.—Advt.
