Un Friday afternoon steady easteily rain began to fall, and it continued without ceasing until this morning. Ihe only sports events scheduled tor. the day were the Plunket Shield cricket match, Canterbury v. Auckland, an (l cycling sports on Saturday evening. Botu were postponed.
