JUMPED OVERBOARD
MAORI ON WAY TO PORIRUA. By Telegraph.-Press association. Napier, December 3. When about half a mile from the breakwater this morning, the Watnut was stopped owing to a mentally affected Maori, who was being escorted to Porirua, jumping overboard. His escort, a Gisborne policeman, jumped in after him, and held him up until a boat from the Wainui picked them both up. Both were given a change of clothes, and they were able to join the southbound train.
