ANNIVERSARY BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION Gisborne, October 14. - The one hundred and fifty-seventh anniversary of the landing of Captain Cook in New Zealand was celebr'.ted at the monument at Cook’s landing place it-day. There was a large attendance of Cadets, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, and the general public. Addresses eulogising the great navigator’s work were delivered bv Messrs. I?. Edmonds, F.R.G.S., and W. D. Lvsnar. Manv beautiful wreaths were ’.aid on the memorial.
