TRANS-TASMAN FLIGHT

Captain Robertson, who has arrived at Sydney by the Ulimaroa to complete his arrangements for a projected flight from Sydney to New Zealand, says that, the scheme is entirely a private venture financed, bv private capital Interested New Zealanders had financed the flight to the extent of £5OOO. Captain Robertson proposes to secure in Queensland a seaplane which he considers suitable for the flight but the present engine will be replaced by _ o!^ e similar to that used bv Sir Alan Cobham in his recent flight. Captain Robertson, who. will enlist the assistance of an /Australian pilot to accompany him, will make La Perouse, close to Sydney, the jumping-on place. It is estimated that the flight, given ordinary conditions, will occupy 134- hours.
