Masterton, October 13. Tho Mauriceville County Council has drawn up a comprehensive reading scheme for the season, and has inada application to the Public Works Department for authority to purchase a stonecrusher and a motor-tractor with which to carry out the work. Williams, E. Selby, E. Grantham, G. Oakley: delegates to Wairarapa Sub-Centre, Messrs. D F. McKay and R Cowie; representative on Memorial Park Board, Mr. R. Cowie. Mr R. R. Ravuer, who resigned the office of president, after many years’ service, was elected a life member. It was decided to apply for January 22 for tho date of the annual sports meeting. Tlie meeting agreed to assist the Beautifying Society’s gala, early in December by conducting a short programme of athletic events. Good progress is being mauo by the Wairarapa South County with its road reconstruction and resurfacing programme on tho main read between Mas terton and Carterton. It is hoped to complete half of the road this season, and by the end of next season to link up the whole distance with a tar-sealed surface. , , The annual report of the Masterton Lawn Tennis Club states that the memhershin now stands at 21".
