The annual meeting of the South Wairarapa Trotting Club was held last evening at Greytown, Mr. J. F. Thompson presiding. The balance-sheet showed a successful year, the change of dates from June to Christmas time being beneficial. A profit of .£ll3 was shown. A new lease of the Taratahi course has been secured for five years, and next year it is hoped to complete arrangements for the introduction of a highly-bred American stallion to the Wairarapa.. The rules were amended to provide for the election of a patron and six vicepresidents. The question of increasing the stakes was loft in the hands of the stewards, the’-stakes last year being £l5OO.
