♦ FORMER UNITED STATES WAR SECRETARY. New York, July 12. Ex-Senator John W. Weeks, Secretary for War in the Harding and Coolidge Cabttits, died at Lancaster, New Hampshire, after a long illness. He was in his sixty-seventh year. He served in the U.S. Navy as a midshipman. and afterwards took up a banking career on land. He was elected to Congress in 1905, and in 1913 became Senator.
