HEENEY’S FIGHT WITH SCOTT. London, July 11. Referring to the defeat of Tom Heeney, the New Zealander, by Phil Scott, the "Daily Mail” says:—"Heeney emerged considerably damaged, but with an enhanced reputation. It was a noteworthy performance qonsidering. that he fought as a substitute and was not fully trained. Unfortunately, he does not possess actual cleverness, but I know of nobody able to take such punishment: and fight with such vigour, which makes him difficult to defeat.” The "Dailv News” says;—"Heeney repeatedly beat Scott with counters, but is inclined to the bad habit of argi.iing with the referee and keeping, his eyes off his opponent.”Aus.-N.Z.
