HAWERA WINTER SHOW A RECORD ATTENDANCE. By Telegbaph.—Press Association. Hawera, July 8. At the Winter Show another record was established. The attendance registered at the turnstiles, excluding complimentary, season, and stallholdcis tickets, totalled 28,793. The turnstile receipts were £1492, an increase ot £3,8 on the previous year, when the season was three days shorter. LONDON TALLOW SALES Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, under date July 7:—“Tallow: 415 casks offered, 236 casks sold. Prices unchanged.’’ The Bank of New Zealand, proauce department, has received the following advice from its London office, under date July 7:—Tallow: There is a f air demand, with prices unchanged. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house under date July 7 (last week’s prices in parentheses):—Tallow: We quote present C.T.F. and E. values for the following descriptions of tallow:— Fine mutton, 455. per cwt. (455.); good beef, 465. per cwt. (465.); mixed, 41s. per cwt. (445. 6d.). Our quotations are more or less nominal.

(90s. to 925.); no demand: white, 91s. per cwt. (90s. to 925.); market steady. STOCK SALES Messrs. Abraham and 'Williams, Ltd., report having held a clearing sale on account of Mr. W. J. Nilson,-Linton. The majority of the cows were Shorthorn in somewhat low condition, and calving late. There was a good attendance of buyers, and considering the quality of the stock, the sale was successful.
