POLICE AND SUMMONS GASES. Mr. E. Page, S.M., dealt with the police and summons cases in the Magistrate's Court yesterday. For n second offence of drunkenness, Patrick O'Callaghan (aged 56) was fined 16s. For a breach of his prohibition order he was fined a similar amount. On a change of using obscene language he was fined £2. in default seven days’ imprisonment. , ’ Richard Leach, a baker (aged 18), who appeared on a charge of failing to comply with his probation order was remanded until Tuesday next Henry Reginald King a porter (aged 26), who admitted the theft of various articles of cutlery, valued at £3. the property of Thomas Coltman was convicted and placed on probation for two years. Norman Francis Sandbrook a labourer (aged 18), who pleaded guilty to the thef’ of 17s 5d in money, the nroperty of the Wellington Suburban Motor-bus Co. Ltd., was remanded until Tuesday for sentence, ponding a report from the probation officer. Ernest Taniwa Sutherland a half-cast' Maori (aged 38). who appeared- on tin charge of attempting to kill his wife. Rnngi Sutherland, at Awahuri. was again remanded on the application of ChiefDetective Ward, until June b. SUMMONS CASES. For failing to exhibit a copy of the Northern Wellington Joiners' Award in his factory, Fraser Burke was convicted anri fined £3. Victor Bass was fined £1 for osinr insulting langur go. 1
