RIFLE SHOOTING
4 HOROWHENUA ASSOCIATION MEETING. On Easter Monday the Horawhe.nua Rifle Association held its fourth annual meeting. There were 49 competitors and the shooting was very good all round, the weather being of the best, with a light left wind at 500 yards. 8. G. Batten put ou a possible, followed by four ties. 34 each, all dropping there second shot. The teams match was won by Upper Hutt No. 1 team, with a score of 451. Seven teams competed. The championship was wou by Rifleman S. H. Monk, who went back to the dual shoot-off with 99, finishing up with 127. A challenge belt has been presented by Mr. G. P.
