AUSTRALIAN MINES

WILL ALL BE RENDERED IDLE IF LABOUR DISPUTE NOT . SPEEDILY SETTLED. (Rec. April 9, 1.10 a.m.) Sydney, April 8. The colliery engine-drivers and firemen, at an aggregate meeting at Bulli, unanimously decided to give the colliery owners fourteen days* notice of intention to cease work from Monday next, until their claims were granted. This brings all the coalfields into line, and unless a settlement of the dispute is reached bv the time the fourteen days’ notice expires, the coalmines throughout Australia will be rendered idle.— I’ress Assn.
