“WITHOUT NOTICE”
ANOTHER WAIKUNI PRISONER WALKS OUT Another prisoner, the second in less than a fortnight, escaped from the Waikune prison shortly after 4 o’clock yesterday afternooli. On this occasion the escapee was John Johnson, alias Park, alias Oakney, alias Hazlett, who was underging .a sentence, of two years for breaking and entering. It is thought that the escapee is making for the city, and for that reason the following description has been circulated: Johnson is 51 years, of. age, clean shaven, about sft. 7in. in height, has a medium-sized nose, fair complexion, brown hair, and hazel eyes. Wilfred Ronald Wildley, aged 30, an ex-naval man who escaped on Tuesday, March 16, from Waikune prison, where he was undergoing a three vears’ sentence for forgery, has not since been heard of. He answers to the following description: Clean shaven, about sft. 7in. in height, has brown hair, hazel eyes, with a dragon and swallow tattooed upon his left arm.
