NORTHERN CLUB’S CHAMPIONSHIPS. , ’’Dominion” Special. Palmerston North, March 26. The third round of the Northern Tennis Club’s championship singles, played :to-day, resulted as follows: —Men: E. R. Harris beat N. Buist, 7—5, 6—3; H. G. Bycroft beat H. Powell, 6—o, B—6.8 —6. Ladies: Mrs. Patterson beat Miss L. 'Bycroft, 6—4, 6—5; Miss G. Kirk beat -■Miss M Martin, 6—l, 6—3. The draw for the fourth round is. as follows: —J. H. Blair plays N. Buist, •E. R. Harris plays H. G. Bycroft, Mrs. •Patterson plays Miss M. Martin, Miss G. Kirk, a bye. Miss G. Kirk and J. H. Blair are the only players with two lives. In every Davis Cup Match played in Australasia Ayres “Championship Tennis Balls only have been used. Ayres Championship Balls are made in England, which implies a lot as regards lasting qualities.—Advt.
