PARLIAMENT PROROGUED
PECULIAR POSITION IN NEW SOUTH WALES.
(Rec. March 26, 7 p.m.) Sydney, March 26. The State Parliament -has been prorogued till June 1. This has created a peculiar position in connection with Mr. J. B. Shand’s succession to the late Mr. W. R. Fitzsimmons for the Cumberland seat. The Act provides that the name of a new member must be formally announced in Parliament. This will be impossible till Parliament meets, fthich will probably not be for several months. In the meantime the seat is practically vacant.—Press Assn
