'MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING
PORT NICHOLSON LADIES' CLUB. At the annual meeting of the Port Nicholson Ladies' Miniature Rifle Club, there was a good attendance. The report and balance-sheet, which were adopted, showed that tiie club is in a sound financial position. The membership had increased considerably during the past season. The following officers were elected for the coming year:—Patron, Mr. H. L. Nicholls; president, Mr. A. G. Barnett: vice-presidents, Messrs. R. Caughlcy, W. A. Street, S. Waters, J. Murphy, \V. Smnn. E B. Paton. A. T. Davies, A, E. Rising. F. Renton, T. Oates, G. Mitchell. E. D. Alexander, T. Boon, R. McGuire and W. Conibear; club captain, Miss L. Harper; vice-captain, Mrs. T. A. Otton; honorary secretary. Miss R. Aslienden; honorary treasurer Miss J. Sutherland; committee. Mrs. Congrove and Misses Moachen and Gordon; honorary auditor Mr. P. Metge; coach handicapper and selector Mr. T. A. Otton; marker. Mr. F. Renton. The official opening took place on March 18 at the Harbour Board Chib’s range. A friendly shoot take place between vicepresident Benton’s team and Mr. Metge’s team, the result being a win for the latter. A large number of new members have already joined up. and the club is looking forward to a successful season.
